Pantry Ledger App
This is a case study created for my Google UX Design Professional Certificate. The idea is to create an Inventory app for restaurants with a sustainability focus.
Project overview

A mobile application designed to help restaurants achieve eco-friendly operations by minimizing food waste through advanced inventory tracking, streamlined organization, supplier ordering, and sustainable menu planning.
User research

There were in-depth interviews with 6 participants, a survey with 3 additional respondents, and contextual observations in 2 restaurant kitchens.
The insights highlighted pain points, opportunities, and user preferences, with a focus on sustainability, efficiency and a mobile-first approach.
Wireframes and Low-fi prototyping

The feedback from the initial wireframes was incorporated into the mockup design, enhancing both the layout and the overall user experience.
Usability study

Participants completed core tasks such as scanning inventory items, generating supplier orders, creating sustainable menu plans, and reviewing waste analytics.
Frustrations included small touch targets on inventory lists and a difficult time categorizing products.
Mockups and High-fidelity prototypes
Based on the findings and recommendations from the usability test, the mockup was further refined and Material Design 3 was used as a style guide.
